A showcase of American decorative arts inside;
a floral kaleidoscope outside.

When the late Henry Francis du Pont organized every square inch of Winterthur, he had strict rules for everything from flower arranging to furniture placement. This obsessive attention to detail paid off. Du Pont made his 175-room mansion a world-renowned center for American decorative arts set amidst a spectacular garden.

Winterthur (pronounced “winter-tour”) offers a Galleries & Gardens pass, as well as a variety of guided tours to suit every taste and timetable. The twenty-two-thousand-square-foot Winterthur Galleries host permanent and changing exhibitions; the Campbell Collection of Soup Tureens houses more than 125 incredible vessels. A full calendar of special events brings music, crafts, and even horse racing to the estate.

Food is available in the Garden Cafeteria and at the Cappuccino Café.
