world-famous botanical showplace created by Pierre S. du Pont combines history, horticulture, and theatre

Named by National Geographic Traveler as one of America’s “50 Places of a Lifetime,” Longwood is synonymous with horticulture. More than 11,000 types of plants grow on the 1,050-acre property, including four acres under glass in the Conservatory. The late Pierre S. du Pont, Longwood’s founder, considered a garden the perfect backdrop for theater; this legacy continues with an extensive performing arts program, fountain shows, and special events.
Cafeteria-style dining and full-service dining are available at The Terrace Restaurant.
